Dare to Chase Your Dreams Each and Every Day
Sometimes your life won't turn out how you planned it, it turns out how you work for it, how you wake up and chase that dream every single morning, it's what you give your time and energy to that takes you to the next level. I have the great pleasure to witness men turning their dreams into reality everyday. I facilitate a business plan writing class in a prison, where I get to be inspired everyday by witnessing men work toward making their dreams a reality. In turn, they are helping me make my dreams a reality. We are hosting a business plan competition at the end of July, and everyone of these men are nervous, maybe even scared of presenting, but they show up each day, prepared and ready to work because they know this is what it takes to make their dreams a reality. Over 11 years ago, I was in their shoes. I had a vision of who I wanted to be, an idea of what I wanted to do and thinking I don't know how to start or who to ask. I realized, I couldn't do it alone, I needed to ask for help, I needed to surround myself with like minded people, and I needed to wake up each morning and chase my dream because I knew one thing for sure, "Success comes when preparation meets opportunity." I live by this quote. I share this quote with people at every opportunity. I believe every situation we encounter good or bad is an opportunity, but we can't see it because were not ready or prepared. When I wasn't ready, I could recall only one or two missed opportunities in my past because they were so obviously clear, but I can recall more opportunities than I can count that I created because I was prepared to see them and take advantage of them. Opportunities are not a once in life time for me because I am working on making them everyday. It's never to late to chase your dreams. You just have to believe in yourself and work hard for it. And you may find out it doesn't feel like work because this work you're doing is actually fun. Give yourself a chance and you might surprise yourself.
